Bownes to Defend Titles at GCAC Championships

SHREVEPORT, La.- Fisk University Athletics announced three of their athletes qualified for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's Track & Field Championship this weekend. 
 
Interim Coach Joanna Young has taken over the helm and kept the program afloat. Senior Jacquelyn Bownes will be defeating her 2023 GCAC title in both the shot put and discus. This season, Bownes has won two indoor events. Last week at the Maryville Scot Invitational, she scored 18 points, winning the shot put and taking second in the discus. 

 

On the men's side, Freshman sprinter Kino Carson Jr. and sophomore A'Sah Glenn both qualified but will not be competing.
