Price Takes Gymnast of the Year Award
Morgan Price of Fisk University was named Women's College Gymnast of the Year by College Gymnastics News (CGN). In 2025, she impressed with scores comparable to top DI gymnasts. On February 8, she became the first gymnast from an HBCU to score a perfect 10 on the Uneven Bars at Temple University.
At nationals in Shreveport, Louisiana, Price won all four individual events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, with a high all-around score of 39.500, repeating as national champion. Price, from Lebanon, Tennessee, was the first gymnast to win all four events and the All Around, with season bests of 9.925 on vault, 9.900 on beam, and 9.925 on floor. She has been a strong ambassador for HBCU gymnastics, boosting momentum and visibility for Fisk's program.
Members of the CGN staff nominated individuals and staff in 11 categories based on specified criteria. Then, the field was narrowed down and editors voted. Individuals cannot win more than one award.
