Gymnastics Looks for Good Showing in the Show Me State
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (February 28, 2025) -The Fisk University Bulldog Gymnastics team has been on a roll lately, securing victories against their last three opponents. Their recent triumphs include a thrilling win over Greenville University with a score of 192.950-190.925. The Bulldogs have shown remarkable performances, with standout athletes like Morgan Price and Aliyah Reed-Hammon leading the way.
On the final ay of February, they are set to compete against the University of Bridgeport and the host Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO). SEMO's gymnastics team has also been performing well, with recent scores like 193.875 against Centenary College. The University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team has been making strides too, finishing second at the Ursinus Quad Meet with a team score of 192.0503.
This upcoming meet in the "Show Me State" will indeed be an exciting opportunity for the Bulldogs to demonstrate their prowess and set the tone for the rest of the season.
Beam Team Leads Off
The Bulldogs will need to set the tone on the strongest rotation. Last week at Greenville, they swept the top three spots. Reed-Hammon achieved her season high of 9.875. Price followed that up with a solid score of 9.85, and Liberty Mora achieved a 9.80. Allie Berkley also posted a personal best and tied her season high with a score of 9.825. The Bulldogs' score of 48.975 in this event was their second-best team event score of the season.

Floor Improvement
The second rotation will be the Floor Exercise. In their recent events, they've shown significant improvement and consistency. At the Windy City Invitational, they earned a solid score of 48.350 on floor exercise, with standout performances from Jada Reese and Price. Price has been a key performer, achieving a personal best of 9.925 at Greenville University

Sophomore Bar Star Gives Bulldogs a Lift
Sophomore Ciniah Rosby has also been a key contributor on the Uneven Bars, with her score of 9.75 helping Fisk University secure top spots in the event last week. Rosby placied second in the All-Around with a score of 38.475. Rosby's contribution was crucial on the Uneven Bars, Her remarkable performance underscored the depth and talent of the Bulldogs' roster.
Another key on the uneven bars has been Price. She made history by becoming the first gymnast from a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to record a perfect score on the event earlier this year at Temple University. This monumental achievement highlights her exceptional talent and the rigorous training she has undergone.

Fisk will finish off the meet on their second-best event Vault. The Bulldogs will try to piggyback on a strong performance last week. Price's score of 9.90 on the vault is truly impressive, and Allie Berkley and Reed-Hammon had strong performances as well. Their consistency and high scores indicate that the team is in great form and ready to take on more challenges.
