KALAMAZOO, Michigan (January 19, 2025) - The Fisk University Gymnastics team is gearing up for an exhilarating journey to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where they will face off against the Western Michigan University Broncos and the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. Though only being in their third year, Fisk Gymnastics has long been a powerhouse in the world of collegiate gymnastics. The team, known for its rigorous training regime and commitment to perfection, has produced numerous All Americans over the past two seasons. As they prepare to travel to Kalamazoo, the athletes are focused on continuing this legacy and demonstrating their prowess on the gymnastics floor. The addition of Madison Benson, and freshmen sensation Kendall Guy has been welcome additions to the program.

In the weeks leading up to the competition, the Fisk Gymnastics team has been training tirelessly. New assistant Nuriya Mack feels the team is ready to make some more history.

"The team's dedication to their craft is evident in their unwavering commitment to excellence," said Mack. "The girls have been tunnel vision and love to compete. They have pushed each other to become better. The first three meets have been an indication of how focused they are."

The Journey to Kalamazoo from Chicago

For the Fisk Gymnastics team, this trip represents a chance to bond, grow, and create lasting memories. Having the Fisk Alumni Chapter of Chicago to give needed hospitality was a great way to start. The girls were able to feel the love during the meet from their fans.

"I love it when I can hear people cheering for us when we are on the road," said junior Morgan Price. "They were there at the hotel when we arrived and set up a Meet & Greet. It was a fantastic way for us to hear stories from them when they were at Fisk. I am so glad about the support."

Now as they head to Michigan, they will deal with a different environment. The travel logistics, including transportation, accommodation, and team activities, have been meticulously planned to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for the athletes.

Building Team Spirit

One of the key aspects of the trip is building team spirit and camaraderie.
