CHICAGO (January 16, 2025) - After three days of rest, the Fisk University Lady Bulldog Gymnastics Team are back in action on Friday for their third meet of the season at the prestigious Windy City Invitational, in Chicago and a quick turnaround to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Sunday.
In Chicago, the Bulldogs will face off against Wilberforce University (Bulldogs), Illinois State University (Redbirds), and University of Wisconsin-Stout (Blue Devils) in a highly competitive meet. For Fisk, Friday's meet will showcase strategic lineup adjustments, allowing some athletes additional rest while highlighting the team's depth across all events.
Coming off a strong showing at the MLK Invitational in Nashville, Ciniah Rosby will take on the all-around duties for the Bulldogs. Expect consistent performances as she leads the team with her poise and versatility.
Zyia Coleman, fresh off a standout floor routine in Nashville, will anchor the floor lineup in the sixth spot, stepping up while Morgan Price takes a well-deserved rest from this event. Additionally, Coleman will maintain her position in the Bars lineup this week, looking to build on her season debut bar routine score and contribute to the team's upward momentum.
Price will still compete on Vault, Bars, and Beam, looking to deliver her usual high-caliber performances. The Lady Bulldogs also welcome Sophia Pratt back to the bars lineup, giving Allie Berkley an opportunity to recharge as she competes exclusively on Vault.
Freshman Kendall Guy continues to make an impact for the Lady Bulldogs. She will compete on Vault and Floor, aiming to build on her solid performances and consistent scores this season.
A special highlight will be is Madison Benson, who will be the only Bulldog competing a vault with a 10.0 start value—a half-on front pike off. Benson's power and execution make her Vault a must-watch moment.
The Lady Bulldogs have shown consistent improvement with each meet this season, increasing their team score by one point from Kent State to the MLK Invitational. In Chicago, they aim to build on that momentum and attempt to get their first win against a Division I opponent in the program's young history.
Following the Windy City Invitational, Fisk will head to Kalamazoo on Sunday to face off against Western Michigan University (Broncos) and University of New Hampshire (Wildcats) in another exciting matchup.
Let's go Bulldogs!
