"Gymdogs” Open Season with Blue vs. Gold Intrasquad Meet
Intrasquad match is free and open to the public.
NASHVILLE—Fisk University will host a free look at the first HBCU gymnastics team in a blue vs. gold intrasquad meet this Sunday morning. Affectionately known as the Gymdogs, the team is starting its second season as a program.
After the meet, the Gymdogs will be available for autographs and pictures. This season should be even more exciting as Talladega University will become the second HBCU to start a gymnastics program.
"We are excited to start our second season," head coach Corrinne Tarver said. "We started something last year, and now there are two HBCU programs. The team has been working hard. We have some lofty goals to accomplish. We have some exciting news about the upcoming season. We hope everyone will come out and watch."
The free event will occur at the Nashville Gymnastics Training Center, 104 Centennial Circle in West Nashville. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m., with the first rotation starting at 9 a.m.
