Dawgs Travel to Little Rock to Close Out Pre-Thanksgiving Schedule
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (November 25, 2024) – On Tuesday the Fisk University Bulldogs team will finish out their "Murder's Row" portion of their schedule when they travel to Arkansas to take on the Arkansas Baptist College Buffaloes. (5 p.m. Arkansas Baptist YouTube).
Fisk (4-7) has lost four out of the past five games but has given two NAIA top ten teams a scare during that stretch. The two other losses were on the road. The five games came in eight days, with three being in a row. Head coach Jeremiah Crutcher circled that portion of the schedule because the first-year coach wanted to see what his team was made of.
"We are starting to under the process and know each other better," said Crutcher, "We have played a total of 11 games in 25 days. Some of these guys think they can play at the next level. I told them to buckle up and get ready. This game won't be easy either. They are undefeated at home, so we need to play well."
KEY MATCHUP
Like Crutcher mentioned, the Buffaloes (5-2) are undefeated at home (3-0), undefeated against NAIA schools (5-0) and they have defeated all three HBCU Athletic Conference teams they have faced. Playing on the road, it is important to set the tone early on the defensive end. Look for Fisk to turn to power forward Michael Ashley to anchor the middle. Crutcher will also need to get good minutes from 6'10 post player Ty Jackson and 6'8 forward Solomon Mustafa-Reid.
