Dawgs Finish Three-Game Alabama Trip in Title Town for HBCUAC Matchup
Tuscaloosa, Ala. (November 15, 2024) – The Fisk University Bulldog basketball team will look to get their first winning streak of the season, when they take on Stillman College Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (1 p.m. HBCU Plus).
Fisk (3-3, 1-0 HBCUAC) is 0-3 lifetime against Stillman (1-4, 1-0 HBCUAC). This is the first year that Stillman and Fisk are in the same conference. Both teams come into matchup 1-0 in conference play, both wins were on the road.
"Playing on the road is never easy, and Stillman is well-coached," said Fisk head coach Jeremiah Crutcher. "They love to shoot the three and when you are at home, you are used to your sight lines. We will need to play good on the defensive end to come out with a win."
KEY MATCHUP
Stillman has three players averaging in double figures. 6'6 forward Calvin Finch Jr. scored 24 points the last time out against Rust College, going 10-of-11 from the field. Michael Ashley and Ty Jackson will have to neutralize Finch Jr., so the guards can stay home on the Stillman perimeter players who are shooting from the outside well.
