Lockett Invited to HBCU All Star Game
Former Fisk star will showcase his talents at the famous Rucker Park in New York City.
NEW YORK—Former Fisk University basketball star Jayden Lockett will join 40 of the best HBCU Basketball players in the world for an All-Star Game on August 10, 2024, at the historic hallowed grounds of Rucker Park in Harlem, New York. The experience will merge HBCU sports, education, and traditions with urban streetball culture.
"I appreciate being invited to play where all the greats played," said Lockett. Coach Kenny (Anderson) always talked about the playground legends who have played at Rucker Park. This is a great opportunity to further my career."
Lockett, who will represent the NAIA's Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, will showcase his skills against athletes representing the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, SWAC, and other NAIA and independent conferences.
Lockett, who finished his college career with over 1,000 points, was named a first-team All-GCAC Player to the All-Defensive Team this past season. The Nashville native scored a career-high 39 points on February 19, 2024, on the road against conference foe Southern University of New Orleans.
