Bio
Victoria Crawford, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, has built a distinguished career in basketball both as a player and coach. Her remarkable journey began in high school, where she led the state of Alabama in scoring with an impressive average of 27 points per game during her senior year. This feat earned her a scholarship to the University of Memphis.
As a senior at Memphis, Crawford's talent and hard work were recognized when she was named the Conference USA Sixth Player of the Year in 2004. That same year, she also set the school’s single season steals record, underscoring her defensive prowess.
Following her collegiate success, Crawford played professionally overseas from 2005 to 2010, further honing her skills and gaining invaluable experience. During this period, she was also invited to several WNBA camps, showcasing her abilities on a broader stage.
Transitioning from player to coach, Crawford spent five seasons at Miles College in Alabama as the associate head coach, where she contributed significantly to the development of the team's strategy and player performance. In 2017, she joined Southern Mississippi University as an assistant coach, a position she held until 2018.
In 2019, Crawford returned to her hometown of Birmingham and took on the role of head coach at Lawson State Community College. Her leadership and expertise were pivotal in guiding the team and fostering a competitive spirit.
Crawford's journey continued as she led Lincoln College in Illinois. Despite the challenges faced, her team displayed perseverance and determination. Unfortunately, Lincoln College announced it would cease operations.
May of 2022, she was named the head coach at Fisk University, where she currently holds the same position. She broke a Fisk women’s basketball record recording 39 wins in her first two seasons. In 2023-24, her team became the first one at Fisk to make it to the NAIA Postseason tournament. She is in her third season, currently with an overall record of 48-33.
Crawford's career is a testament to her dedication, skill, and passion for basketball. From a prolific scorer in high school to a professional player and now a respected coach, she has left an indelible mark on the sport and continues to inspire future generations.
Crawford is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and in 2024 she was named to the Nashville Sports Authority. She is a proud mentor to numerous young ladies during her coaching career.
She is the daughter of Roger Crawford Sr. and Eadie Crawford. Her brother, Roger jr. played on the 1994-95 University of Arkansas National Champion Men’s Basketball team. Her other siblings are Jessica Crawford, Kathleen Files, Samantha Moore, John More, and Virginia Moore. Crawford has one daughter, Londyn Crawford (12 years old).
