Fisk Announces Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2023

NASHVILLE – The term student-athlete has been used loosely through the year. At Fisk University, they take being a student first seriously. 85 athletes made Valencia Jordan's first Athletic Director Honor Roll list. Jordan, a former basketball player at Fisk, knows from experience how grueling juggling schoolwork and sports is at the university. She commends all that have been a part of making this list.

"The students do all the work, but others have a role as well," said Jordan. "We challenge our coaches on more than just wins and losses, they have to make sure their athletes understand how high the standard is here. My experience here was more than how many points I scored. I had professors that cared. Over the years that has not changed. I am proud of all of our student-athletes. It is not easy to take on such a load on and off the playing field."

Out of the 85 students named, eight ended with a 4.0 grade point average. Women's Golf had the highest team GPA of a 3.651 and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country followed closely behind with 3.58.
