Price Dominates WCGNIC
Fisk has seven All Americans to finish out historic season.
SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (April 13, 2025) – Fisk University gymnast Morgan Price excelled by winning all four disciplines and the All-Around title at Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitation Championship (WCGNIC), setting a record with all five titles. Last season, she became the first HBCU gymnast to win the All-Around title. Her recent achievement adds another accolade to her illustrious career.
"I was focused and did what I had to do," said Price. "I am happy how I performed but extremely proud of my teammates. To have seven of us here and getting eight placements is fantastic. I wasn't happy about my performance on Friday, so I knew what I needed to do, to come in here today. I'm happy that my family was here to support me. This was for Fisk University and all HBCUs. We worked super hard all season. Every single day we put in the work and today was the outcome of that hard work."
On Friday, Price took the All-Around title with a score of 39.325. Today, she followed that up, winning the Vault 9.825, Beam 9.8625 tying on the Uneven Bars with a 9.85, and her highest score, a 9.9 on the Floor Exercise.
The team sent seven individuals to the championships. Price, along with Allie Berkley, Aliyah Reed-Hammon, and Ciniah Rosby were named first team All Americans. Kaylei McDonald, Liberty Mora and Jade Reese earned second team honors.
Price's five championships, combined with Rosby's fourth place in the All Around, fifth on Balance Beam, and Reed-Hammon's sixth place on Vault, resulted in Fisk securing eight placements out of a total of 24.
The performance at the championships concluded a successful season. With 11 wins, a streak of six consecutive victories, and four meet wins, the Fisk University Gymnastics team had an impressive season. Now it's time to exceed expectations next year.
"I'm going to get some rest, but I will be ready next year," said Reed-Hammon. "I'm not satisfied yet. We have set some more goals already."
